Larisa Kostiuk
Opera singer, mezzo-soprano
Born in Kuznetsk, Penza Oblast. She has graduated with honor from the Gnessin State Musical College (the class of V.V. Turchanovich) and the vocal department of the Moscow State University of Culture (the class of G. S. Portnov).
In 1995 Larisa Kostyuk has become the soloist of the Moscow musical theatre Helikon-opera. There are more than 40 parts in her repertoire. Among them there are the Countess (“The Queen of Spades” P. I. Tchaikovsky), Marina Mniszech (“Boris Godunov” M. Mussorgsky), Fenena (“Nabucco” G. Verdi), Lyubasha (“The Tsar's Bride” N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov), Madame de Croissy (“Dialogues des Carmélites” F. Poulenc), Lyubava (“Sadko” N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov), Amelfa (“The Golden cockerel” N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov), Olga and nanny (“Eugene Onegin” P. I. Tchaikovsky), Lyubov Kochubey (“Mazeppa” P. I. Tchaikovsky), Anna (“The Seven Deadly Sins” K. Weill), Flora (“La traviata” G. Verdi), Gypsy woman (“Aleko” S. V. Rachmaninoff) etc.
The singer pursues vast touring activity as part of the theatre’s troupe, and also as the invited soloist. She has performed on such stages as Bolshoi theatre, Opéra Bastille, Royal Swedish Opera, theatre of Vienna and Toronto, took part in the musical festival in Kazan, M. D. Mikhailov festival in Cheboksary, Klangbogen in Austria, Wexford Festival Opera in Ireland.
In April 2018 Larisa has participated in the premiere series of the A. Rubinstein’s “Demon” production, stage by Dmitry Bertman at the Teatro Liceu (Barcelona, Spain).
She was cooperating with such outstanding conductors as M. Rostropovich, V. Fedoseev, G. Rozhdestvensky, V. Ponkin, A. Vedernikov.
For the merits in the theatrical arts field Larisa Kostyuk was awarded with the Certificate of Honor of the Moscow culture committee and was given the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
